Partners

Edinburgh Crisis Centre is governed by a formal partnership between NHS Lothian, City of Edinburgh Council, Edinburgh Carers Council, Edinburgh Crisis Centre Users, and Penumbra. This entails shared planning, development and decision-making process involving all the partners.

The Partnership Group remain committed to the principles set out by Service Users in 2004, that the service and all decisions relating to it:

  • Are designed to meet the needs of Service Users as expressed by Service Users,
  • Are based on Partnership working,
  • Involve Service Users in decision making and management,
  • Involve Service Users in evaluating the service.

Partnership Group members include representatives from Edinburgh Crisis Centre Users and Edinburgh Carers Council. As well as involvement in regular meetings to oversee the running of the service Users and Carers are involved at all stages in the recruitment of Centre staff. The Centre actively encourages applications for vacancies from people with lived experience of mental health issues.
